Progress Begins Today. Period.
EDUCATION
Mabel teachers hold menstrual lessons for both boys and girls at schools and amongst local community and sewing groups. We talk about puberty, hormones, and our changing bodies. Education is crucial in helping to break the taboo that surrounds menstruation in many parts of the world.
THE MABEL KIT
The Mabel Kit is comprised of fully reusable menstrual care products made out of local materials. With proper care, one kit can last up to three years.
SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS
Mabel brings communities sustainable ways to care for people during menstruation. Through education in sewing and sales of the Mabel Kit, we hope that these communities become Mabel Microenterprises, where they can make Mabel Reusable Pads into a sustainable business.

ABOUT MABEL
Launched in 2017 by Lauren Mellor, Mabel is a registered charity which empowers and enables people in rural communities to care for their menstrual health and hygiene.
At Mabel, we teach community members to sew reusable menstrual hygiene kits, with a vision of creating sustainable micro enterprises. We work with local groups to source materials, make the kits, calculate costs and find potential markets.
Education is fundamental to Mabel’s mission. Every time a kit is distributed, we include a lesson about menstruation and instruction on caring for their kits. A well maintained kit can last 3 years.
We also present menstrual teacher-training workshops for anyone who wishes to become a menstrual educator, help break the cultural taboos, and start a developing conversation amongst their communities.
